TANKS A LOT, TIGER!

With its huge cannon and almost impenetrable armour, the German Tiger tank struck fear into the hearts of Allied troops. Although more than 1,300 were produced during the Second World War, this is the only working example in existence. Tiger 131 has been restored to its original war time specification after a two-year restoration project costing £80,000. 2012.

The 55-ton tank can be seen tackling the tank course at Bovington Tank Museum in Dorset. It has been fitted with a genuine German Second World War Maybach engine and its fan drives have been re-engineered from original blueprints. Now it is coaxed into life using a starting handle. LINK

Big ups to my boy Wyatt for putting me on to this story about a restored WW II German Tiger Tank, the only one in existence. Being an ex-army tanker, I love mechanical things like fighter planes, muscle cars and of course tanks. As a history buff the war years are fascinating to me as well. As far as tanks go the Tiger was everything it was billed to be and more. Not only could it smoke anything the Allies fielded on the battlefield, it gave its crew the protection they needed to face overwhelming odds in many hard-fought battles.

The guys at Bovington do some incredible work restoring these machines so future generations can see and understand history up close and personal. Its one thing to hear a story of how scared you were going into battle against a tank like the Tiger. It’s something else completely to actually stare down the barrel. It just reminds us of how incredibly brave our grandparents were and home much we all owe them. Hats off to the greatest generation.

This is a typical tactic that Democrats use all the time. It’s evil Republicans who want to starve women, children, orphans and put grandma and grandpa in a home where all they serve is cat food. Meanwhile, Obama has destroyed the economy and has instituted the worst elements of gangster and racial politics. Stick to your guns, Congressman. She is vile.

OBAMA DISHONORS THE TROOPS YET AGAIN

Yesterday, the so-called commander-in-chief addressed the U.S. Army’s 10th Mountain Division. During the address, he dishonored the troops by confusing the names of two Medal of Honor winners. Blackfive has the story:

“First time I saw 10th Mountain Division, you guys were in southern Iraq. When I went back to visit Afghanistan, you guys were the first ones there. I had the great honor of seeing some of you because a comrade of yours, Jared Monti, was the first person who I was able to award the Medal of Honor to who actually came back and wasn’t receiving it posthumously.”

It’s almost painful to see this guy constantly make an ass out of himself.

OBAMA BATTLES GENERALS ON THE ‘STAN

Wow, there’s a shock. His motivation? Politics, what else?

Barack Obama is set to reject the advice of the Pentagon by announcing on Wednesday night the withdrawal of up to 30,000 troops from Afghanistan by November next year, in time for the US presidential election.

The move comes despite warnings from his military commanders that recent security gains are fragile. They have been urging him to keep troop numbers high until 2013.

The accelerated drawdown will dismay American and British commanders in Kabul, who have privately expressed concern that the White House is now being driven by political rather than military imperatives. (LINK)

THE MEN WHO STARE AT GOATS (AND CONGRESSMEN)

ARMY USES MIND CONTROL ON SENATORS, NEEDS LESS THAN EXPECTED

Gen. David Petraeus, the top U.S. commander in Afghanistan, is ordering an investigation into a scathing Rolling Stone magazine report that says the Army ordered soldiers trained in “psychological operations” to manipulate visiting lawmakers to secure more troops and funding for the war, the military said Thursday.

A lieutenant colonel told the magazine that a military team at Afghanistan’s Camp Eggers was ordered by Gen. William Caldwell, a three-star general in charge of training Afghan troops, to perform psychological operations on visiting VIPs over a four-month period last year.

When the team devoted to what is known as information operations refused on grounds that it was illegal, it was subjected to a campaign of retaliation, the magazine said. LINK

Clearly this story is true. BUSTED!!! If you watch closely you can actually see the admiral use the Jedi Mind Trick on the congressman. Rewind, rewind, rewind. Watch when the Admiral points at his eye. That’s the signal for his aide seated behind him to use a handheld device to shoot invisible energy rays directly into the eye sockets of the congressman causing him to lose his mind.
