Commissioner Ayers responds to criticism over the disciplinary transfers of injured firefighters. Note the shocking and disgusting comments of the Mayor’s appointed public safety director Everette Gillison. Resign? For getting burned while fighting fires? What a disgraceful and cowardly thing to say, especially coming from a career public defender.

Gillison is the one who should apologize and resign immediately. Such comments have no place representing the Mayor of our city. Furthermore, the pictures of the injured firefighters clearly shows they were burned THROUGH their protective gear. Our guys are getting burned by RADIANT HEAT; not direct flame contact. In my opinion, that’s because the fires we are fighting these days are bigger and hotter due to longer response times. Just look at some of the video I post and you can see for yourself. These predictable injuries are a direct result of the public safety cuts and policies of the Nutter administration.

What a couple of absolute scumbags. As they say in the ‘hood, “He got to go!”

What a pretty cap he wears on his brainless head.

This is despicable conduct, even for these inflated gasbag excuses for administrators. I’ve never been one to favor unions, but in this case I support their side of this issue. There can be no excuse for this biased and unprofessional treatment of those who go in harm’s way for the safety of the public. This is no different than reprimanding a soldier for a bullet wound that misses the body armor! Why is this tolerated?

What a shame! What these ass-clowns have done to this once great department. A sad thing to watch in the rear view mirror.

    Absolutely unbelievable.

Bingo Capt. I’ve taken care of my own guys from the same burns. Apt fire They stayed low on the floor but the heat was way to much.

Where on God’s green Earth do they find such shrubs, anyway?

    Stay safe.
