Commissioner Ayers responds to criticism over the disciplinary transfers of injured firefighters. Note the shocking and disgusting comments of the Mayor’s appointed public safety director Everette Gillison. Resign? For getting burned while fighting fires? What a disgraceful and cowardly thing to say, especially coming from a career public defender.
Gillison is the one who should apologize and resign immediately. Such comments have no place representing the Mayor of our city. Furthermore, the pictures of the injured firefighters clearly shows they were burned THROUGH their protective gear. Our guys are getting burned by RADIANT HEAT; not direct flame contact. In my opinion, that’s because the fires we are fighting these days are bigger and hotter due to longer response times. Just look at some of the video I post and you can see for yourself. These predictable injuries are a direct result of the public safety cuts and policies of the Nutter administration.Vodpod videos no longer available.
