NOVEMBER SURPRISE: DISENFRANCHISING THE MILITARY VOTE

Vote early, vote often mother fu*ker... just not here!

CHICAGO (WLS) – The U.S. Justice Department is investigating whether the state of Illinois missed the deadline for mailing absentee ballots to members of the military and other overseas American voters as part of a new federal overseas voting law.

Cris Cray, Director of Legislation at the Illinois State Board of Elections, says not all of Illinois’ 110 jurisdictions were compliant with the 2009 Military and Overseas Voter Empowerment Act (MOVE).

The law requires every state to mail their absentee ballots 45 days prior to Election Day to overseas troops, government employees and other Americans who want to vote from abroad. LINK

Remember when we thought only evil Republicans disenfranchised poor, black voters??? Ahh yes. Good times, good times.

Illinois isn’t the only state being investigated for this either. Sounds like a duck…

So you’re saying that only poor, black people are in the military & overseas?

  2. Wow did you miss the point of that one. (Actually that’s what Charlie Rangal said).

It was a charge routinely thrown at Rebublicans by Democrats who we all know would NEVER disenfranchise anyone, least of all our troops overseas.

The military vote has been screwed up for a long time. There were thousands of military ballots not counted in Florida in the 2000 Presidential Election. I wonder if Gore’s lawsuit to get every vote counted included those?
