Is it any wonder why our military despises liberal Democrats? This was Hillary Clinton, current Obama administration Secretary of State calling General Petreaus a liar to his face. This is a man who has given his entire life and career to the service of his country, risen to the top of his profession and could run intellectual circles around those who he reports to. Two years ago liberals were calling him a liar. Now they are singing his praises because of Obama’s decision to oust General Stanley McChrystal because he had the poor judgement to think out loud around a hippy reporter. Obama realized he had no where else to go. How shallow is that?

So Obama effectively DEMOTES General Petreaus after members of his administration have called him a liar in public in the past, yet the General is supposed to TRUST these people? I’m starting to think General McChrystal actually came out ahead. General McChrystal gets fired yet Rahm Emmanuel still collects a check.

Wait… How much of a worm is Petreaus for taking command again after that

    • I wonder why he would myself. I can only assume he has a unimaginable devotion to his job, the soldiers and his country. I would have a tough time doing the same.

Based on a conversation I had this morning, Patraeus did it because he believes in the troops and the job they are doing. And yes, effectively it IS a demotion; but he’s doing it for the country.

Makes me wonder why General Rodriguez (#2 commander in Afghanistan) wasn’t considered…or was he?

  4. Sally Anne says:

I’m really happy he took this job. Never liked McChrystal and I think his move to chat with Rolling Stone was a deliberate bit of professional suicide. Am way more comfortable with Gen. Petraeus being in charge while my hubby’s over there.

Emanuel, Axlerod, Holbrook and Eikenberry should all be fired. Then let Patraeus take the gloves off with the surge like they did in Iraq.

OMG… You want to know why cities go broke. Here ya go.
BELL, Calif. — Los Angeles County is looking into the paychecks of City Council members in the small city of Bell – who make nearly $100,000 a year for part-time work.

The Los Angeles County district attorney’s office said Wednesday that it’s reviewing why records show council members receiving more than $8,000 a month to serve a town with only 40,000 residents.

State law says part-time council members in small cities should get about $400 a month.

The records indicate that the council members were paid $150 a month for the council but earn thousands more for serving on what appear to be various housing, finance and redevelopment agencies.

But Bell Vice Mayor Teresa Jacobo says the figures are misleading because the monthly bill includes the cost of medical insurance, retirement and other benefits.

Hey Dustoff California is furloughing employees, closing fire stations, cutting back on police and laying off teachers, but now starting a new $700 million program to help people that got too big of a house with no money down and now cannot pay their mortgage. The world is a backward place with the government not doing what it should and trying to do a bunch of stuff that it should not.

    • Dustoff says:

      Jezzz Only CA.
It’s one of the reasons I left for Washington state.
Yet I’m sorry to say, we too are heading the way of CA. )-:
