The Obama administration has a lot of fights on its hands. Putting aside real wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, there’s the battle against leaking oil in the Gulf, the struggle against 9.7 percent unemployment across the country, and clashes over the president’s agenda on Capitol Hill. Despite all that, the White House has found time to issue a new declaration of war, this time against an unlikely enemy: the state of Arizona.
The Justice Department is preparing to sue Arizona over its new immigration law. The president has stiffed Gov. Jan Brewer’s call for meaningful assistance in efforts to secure the border. And the White House has accused Arizona’s junior senator, Republican Jon Kyl, of lying about an Oval Office discussion with the president over comprehensive immigration reform. Put them all together, and you have an ugly state of affairs that’s getting uglier by the day. LINK
Breathtaking. That’s what you can say about the President of the United States’ arrogance and indifference toward the will of the American people. As is often the case with those in power, they see their agenda as more of a divine calling, the pursuit and fulfillment of their own destiny as opposed to a call to service. President Obama has little connection to reality today. With unemployment at 10%, he is scheming to impose even HIGHER taxes on Americans at a time when they can least afford it. His administration’s policy failures have his hand-picked top General speaking out against his administration. While foreign countries may not have liked George Bush, few thought of him as a joke like this President.
Obama’s unprecedented out of control spending as well as his handling of the Gulf disaster have been… disasters. His obsession with the destruction of our health care system has been opposed by the majority of the American people as is his latest policy debacle, the decision (announced by his Secretary of State, in a foreign country) to actively oppose Arizona over the federal government’s failure to control our southern border.
Arizona copied the federal law so as to ensure its legality. Yet Obama’s Attorney General Eric Holder is determined to exert the power of the federal government to insure the continued free flow of illegal aliens, drugs, weapons and hostile foreign nationals over our southern border. He flat our lied to Arizona Governor Jan Brewer when he told her to expect administration officials in two weeks to help sort things out. Those officials still haven’t arrived. His policies are dangerous, divisive, ill-conceived, poorly executed and without the support of the vast majority of the American people. The lies, double talk, cover ups and back room deals are having a devastating effect on our Union. I don’t know how long Americans will stand for this kind of government. Something tells me only until November.
