THE OBAMA SYNDROME

Why history and competence matter. Remember Three Mile Island, Chernobyl, Bhopal, Shuttle Challenger, Piper Alpha. These are all man-made disasters that could have been prevented. But the arrogance of those involved won out over reason, safety, common sense and concern for your fellow man.

It’s not “Big Oil” that is to blame. It is the failure of leadership.

  1. Randal Graves says:

So Ronald Reagan is to blame for the Challenger explosion?

  2. Dustoff says:

    Ahhh No Randal.

SRB by Thiokol of Utah warned NASA not to launch on a cold day. The(leadership/NASA) broke their own rules and went ahead anyway.

    Nice try though.

    • Randal Graves says:

So should the title of the post be the Thiokol Syndrome or the NASA Sydrome???

      • Dustoff says:

Just maybe you failed to understand Capt’s statement. (Why history and competence matter. Remember Three Mile Island, Chernobyl, Bhopal, Shuttle Challenger, Piper Alpha. 5. The theme Randall, is human arrogance. The type Obama displays all the time especially when his answer to every problem is more government. Like this:
Presidents are never really off the clock, even when they go on vacation. But President Obama’s decision to skip the traditional Memorial Day ceremony in Arlington while on his second vacation since the BP oil spill began has some wondering what the schedule says about his priorities.

    Arrogant to the core.

Dustoff that story reminds me of back when Ski Areas quit putting pads on the chair lift towers because doing so acknowledged that you could get hurt if you skied into one. The crazy trial lawyers say they are all about consumer protection, but what they really are about is fattening their wallets.
