In a letter to the city of LA, a member of Arizona’s power commission said he would ask Arizona utility companies to cut off the power supply to Los Angeles. LA gets about 25 percent of its power from Arizona.
“That is one commissioner who has that idea — whether he can do that or not is another idea,” said LA Councilman Dennis Zine. “They are the ones who have to make the move, not us.”
The commissioner’s power grid play is in response to the city’s approval of a resolution directing city staff to consider which contracts with Arizona can be terminated. LINK
This is AWESOME! I swear this guy is right on! We are finally seeing the elected officials in Arizona standing up for what is right despite opposition from the left. Highly unusual in the world of elected politics, but a welcomed relief. Instead of cowering in fear of the liberal onslaught, conservatives are finding their sea legs and getting the message. Enough is enough, it’s time to fight back. Americans want the rule of law restored and we will fire politicians who take us for fools.
From Sheriff Joe Arpaio, to Governor Jan Brewer and now Arizona Utility Commissioner Gary Pierce, Arizona’s leaders are doing just that: LEADING IN THE FACE OF EXTREME ADVERSITY.
Conservatives and especially REPUBLICANS should take note of this. On the heels of yesterdays election losses for the likes of “Benedict” Arlen Specter the message is clear. Stand up to the left and the forces of socialism and lawlessness or find a new job. The Obama administrations policies are being roundly rejected at every turn so support him if you dare and at your own risk.
The arrogance and bully tactics we see coming out of states like California will not stand. I say shut their power off anyway. Teach them a lesson. If Governor Schwarzenegger will not intervene then let his state reap what they sow. I’m quite sure California is in no position to sustain an economic boycott either. Since when are states in the business of economic extortion against each other anyway?
While wasting some of my very precious time commenting on Wyatt’s blog, an idea came to me on how we can show Arizona we support them. Send them a dollar. I know in the Obama economy a dollar doesn’t go very far, but if every real American sends Arizona just ONE DOLLAR, we will send California a message that states and Americans will not be intimidated by their bully tactics. If you believe as I do that Arizona should be supported, you can help by cross posting this and spreading the word. Here is the address:
