SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK- CONGRESS MEETS ITS MATCH

I find it utterly ironic that Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and the rest of the congressional democrats may finally meet their match because of a kids cartoon.

Remember the ABC Schoolhouse Rock series from the 70’s? One of the most popular was “I’m just a Bill”. It’s the story of a lowly bill that struggles through our system of government to become a law. As he navigates the different branches of government the Bill sings a song that you only have to hear once to be forever hooked. He laments how he is “stuck up here on Capitol Hill”. That should become the Tea Party theme song! How great would that be?

The entire process is explained in a way children could easily grasp. Ironically the Schoolhouse Rock series may have provided a better understanding of topics like government, history and math for a generation of kids then did any number of school room lectures.

Now those kids are grown up and remembering the poor little Bill and that our country is founded on a system of laws, checks and balances. People are getting wise to this Congress and their unconstitutional attempts to bypass our laws and procedures in order to ram through this massive health care takeover. It’s time for Pelosi and Reid to respect our laws. Otherwise their arrogance will be their undoing.
