OFFICER PROBED IN GUN DISCHARGE

cop patch

PHILADELPHIA – Philadelphia police investigate an officer firing her gun inside the 12th District building.

It happened at 65th Street and Woodland Avenue in Southwest Philadelphia Wednesday morning.

Police say it looks like an accident and no one was hurt.

Internal Affairs is investigating. LINK

Next door to my old firehouse. Same building. Oh yeah, black female – Sgt. fired off a round during roll call. Apparently unable to clear a handgun properly. Let’s hear it for diversity. You can’t make this stuff up.

This “sergeant” (Robin Himmons) was in my Academy class. She’s a moron. Apparently, she asked a rookie if his gun was loaded. When he responded, “I’m not sure, it has been misfeeding” she didn’t believe him, and “checked” his truthfulness by pointing the gun to the ceiling and squeezing the trigger.

This is the type of person the Philadelphia Police Department promotes. Unbelievable.

And make no mistake, since the woman is in the “protected class,” NOTHING will happen to her. NOTHING.

Don’t tell me, let me guess: Grew up in the city, never handled a firearm until she got to the police academy? I always cringe when I hear a cop say “I hate guns.” Shooting and firearms handling is a comparatively minuscule part of a police officer’s job, but it’s a part with no margin for error. And this bimbo sounds like error personified.

Sounds like you need to wear a flak jacket and helmet to roll call… Just sayin…

Affirmative action will be the downfall of America. Every government agency has promoted women and minorities or white guys who’s only claim to fame is that they promoted women’s issues to high ranking positions. The FBI used to be the number one law enforcement agency in the world. The last 15 years or so it has been a laughing stock around the world for many high profile blunders.
I have seen plenty of instances of incompetent people being promoted here at the state level. It is amazing that we have to work so hard to hire and promote based on race or gender that we cannot just pick the best candidate.
Between stupid hiring and promotion policy to government employee unions gaining power and stopping bad employees from being fired, government jobs are becoming just jobs instead of being a call to service. Too many police, fire fighters, teachers, road workers, etc. are just putting their time in to get a check. It used to be more about service. I guess Congress used to be about service and is now just about collecting checks.
Sorry for the long rant. A pet peeve of mine.

What she did was just plain stupid.

Rule 1: Always treat any firearm as loaded.

    She failed.

  6. You’re right man. I carried various weapons for four years and never managed to have an “accidental discharge”. Simply inexcusable especially for a supervisor.

  7. Maxamillion says:

This is why Philadelphia police aren’t respected. Look at this careless supervisor. I need not talk negative about her, but this is also a reflection mainly upon the academy and its training officers as well as the Commissioners. Is that why Phila is constantly changing the head officials?hmmmm? I’ve known Robin for quite sometime and if she concentrated more on gun safety as well as she does with her eyelashes, juicy couture, Gucci bags, just to name a few, she would be the best “gun controller” in the department!
