Can there be any debate about it? This is the AMC Pacer-Wagon. I’m not sure exactly what year this particular one is, but does it even matter? The Pacer of any year is an example of American auto engineering at it’s absolute worst. I don’t think we’ll ever know what was behind the “Fishbowl on Wheels” as it was scornfully called, but I suspect hallucinogens of some sort. From style to reliability this car just plain sucked. And how about that horrible orange paint scheme and rally hubcaps? This one must have been a sport model. This car had NO redeeming qualities whatsoever. AMC was a bad car company that made bad products. Ironically I was torn for a minute between another AMC pile of crap, the MATADOR. Remember them? I think they were billed as some type of family car. Maybe the Manson family. Yikes. But in the end the Pacer won the day as my #1 selection for Worst of the Worst car edition. CaptainAmerica

    You got that right.

One of my friends had an AMC Javelin…now that was a fun ride!

    Didn’t they make the Gremlin?

  5. Captain Den says:

Yes they did make the Gremlin. It was supposed to be an economy car of some sort. Then one weekend when the bosses were away some of the interns put a 390 cu. engine in it and called it the Gremlin X. Now that was a sick car. Little car with big screaming Ford engine in it. Beside the AMX it was probably the only thing they ever did half right.
