Sadly, federalization seems to be the wave of the future. This has been going on in LE for years. I cringe every time I hear about some proposed federal law designed to outlaw something that's already been outlawed in all 50 states. The clowns in Congress figured out years ago that the more responsibilities the federal government assumes, the more power they have. And the news media has conditioned the public to expect a federal solution to every problem. I'm afraid things are going to get worse before they get better. If they get better.

Hey -

Though I don't agree with everything you said on this, some of your points were really good and you backed it up well. I don't really know how I feel about all these terror alerts and things that cause fear - but you make a good point in what I think you said in that we must learn our lessons from history, and terrorists are getting better at what they do. It makes me rethink a little of my article I put on my site, but too late to take it back now!

I don't know how to ask a favor, but I was looking for people who were not such Obama-fanatics and very smart to help comment on my site sometimes, or at least just tell me what they thought, and I got connected to your site by CNN, liked what I saw a lot, and plus you have a different opinion than a lot of workers at my store - which is good!

To make a long story sort of short, I am a manager at McDonalds, and my workers and I just started a site where we all make our own newspaper. It has only been up 2 weeks, but the workers love it, we are still new at it and the young guys can be vulgar or crass, but we are trying. Today I just put up my first real opinion article on it. You look like you have done this awhile, and if you could just look at the site or read the article and give some advice or even a comment, it would be so great - if not, I understand, it has taken so much time just doing this website thing - I didn't know what we were getting into.

The link to my response to the 2013 thing and the site is this:

The big thing is that I WANT people to disagree with me, and I don't want some of our workers (the Republicans/conservatives on the site are outnumbered right now, and imagine that in a South Carolina McDonalds) to get down because they feel alone or bashed on by the others, it would be great to get people on there who disagree with me and agree with them. I am doing my best to make a good site for all of the workers, and its their first time ever doing something like this, so the last thing I want is for anyone to get down on themselves right now and quit - I think its so good for them.

Thanks for your informative article, and best of luck, and no matter what, I will try and stop by again now that I am trying to get more into politics and the world!

Thank you,
-Radley

I know this is tearing you apart. You live the reality. For many years I lived next door to a Captain in the NYFD. I can "hear" the tone of your frustration.

Unfortunately, they just DON'T GET IT. And they won't until there is a terrible tragedy and invariably the loss of human life ... then the finger pointing will begin and the FIRST responders are always the FIRST targets for BLAME!

It is an outrage ... it is historic in nature ... it seems the lessons are never learned.

I wish I had some magical answer for you ... some words of wisdom as to how this could be resolved. I guess I can only remind you of what YOU ALREADY KNOW ... the squeaky wheel gets the oil. Just keep plugging away.

We pray for you all in your service to us.
